We are super excited to announce the details for the Prudent Women Food Bank.
Food is essential and unavoidable; it is a lifeline. Unavailability of food causes a lot of distraction, aside from the reality and the feeling of poverty and scarcity. That is why, as a forward-thinking, insightful women's organization, we have deliberately diversified our food bank — not just to care for the food needs of women in need in society, but to give us the opportunity and platform to save for the future, when prices of food become very expensive.
This year, we encourage every one of us to save now in order to have enough food for the festive season in December.
Last year many chapters could not purchase cows and broilers, as the money saved per person was not commensurate with the prices in the market. Hence, we have proactively researched and adjusted the prices as envisaged for this year's season. It is worth noting that there may be room for additional money due to the exponential rise of prices in the market. If there is a need, it will be announced in October.
Food sharing shall take place by the first week of December.

Payment runs from January to December. You can catch up by paying backward from now. Flexibility is key, so those who want to pay once, twice, or as the case may be, are at liberty to do so.
For a contribution of ₦200,000 you will receive
- 50kg quality Nigerian rice
- 5 litres groundnut oil
- 5 litres red oil
- 1 carton of Indomie
- 1 carton of spaghetti
- 5 packs of Knorr Maggi
- 10kg of Semovita
- 1 pack of 400g Milo
- 400g milk
- 1 pack of cornflakes
- 1 pack of Golden Morn
- 1 big pack of sugar
- 1 pack of soft drinks
Cow contribution
The amount per cow is ₦600,000, in two categories: four persons per cow at ₦150,000 per person, or six persons per cow at ₦100,000 per person. A member can decide to merge with another member per portion in order to split the price and share the portion of meat.
